What Is A Glazier?
A Glazier is a tradesman who works with glass and glass substitutes (glass and aluminum technician). It’s a rare trade – we are the unseen workers, the ones who install and repair broken windows, fix failed seals on glass panes and install glass showers.
A Glazier Also Works With Aluminum
They’re trained to fabricate, install, and fully understand aluminum parts and products in their field. This can include commercial door closers, full aluminum frame installs, small parts like door stops and window locks – our industry is vast and we must have a good understanding to best help our customers. We strive to stay up-to-date on current industry trends and codes.
A true Glazier needs to know how, where, and why the products are made and have extensive expertise in terms of correct product placement and installation methods. Eastern Glass has a deeper understanding of the industry and the products.

A tradesperson who holds a red seal certification has the equivalent of a 4-year bachelor degree within their trade.
The individual must complete 8000 hours in field as well as many in class and in shop hours. This is followed by government issued written exams, as well as multiple in-shop exams displaying your in-field techniques and accuracy. Serving you Better – with Customer Profiles
Eastern Glass is interested in having a longer-term relationship with you – one that saves you time and money. For a one-time fee, we will send a glazier to your home to measure all the windows and doors, take photos and create a full file for you. Most of our customers don’t replace all of their windows at once – projects may be spread out over months or even years. If you set up a customer profile, you can call us and tell us which window needs replacing, we’ll confirm which one it is and immediately order what’s needed. That means we don’t have to schedule a time to visit your home again, take measurements and then get the glass. This process saves time and money for our customers, allowing us to cut out costly service calls, as well as speeding up the process of getting you what you need.
For customers who decide to choose this service, Eastern Glass will provide an extra 2-year warranty on top of the standard 5-year warranty – which is our industry standard.
